I enjoyed English 1080 especially since english is one of my favourite subjects. The material that we covered was easy to comprehend which is always a good thing. Writing essays has always been an area that I lacked in and something that I have always dreaded doing. I found that by having the writing workshops, writing essays has become easier and it has helped with my writing in other courses. 

Keeping up a weekly blog was something that I have never done before. In the beginning I had no clue what I was doing but I got the hang of it after a while. I loved that by doing these blogs each week it allowed us to keep up on our writing skills. Writing is something I enjoy doing but I never get the time so by doing these blogs it allowed me the time to write because they needed to be done. It was more fun than actual work. 

How to make french toast

(For one person) 

Step1:

Place a frying pan on the burner of a stove 

Turn it on medium heat then wait for the pan to heat up and place cooking oil on the pan

Step2:

Crack two eggs into a bowl

Pour in a little bit of milk

Add vanilla and cinnamon

Step3:

Whisk together egg mixture 

Cover the full slice of bread with the mixture

Make sure both sides are covered 

Step4:

Place the slice of bread onto the hot pan

Cook until both sides are golden brown

Step5: 

Put bread on a plate and serve with maple syrup

This quote comes from J.K Rowling’s book “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.” J.K Rowling is the author of the Harry Potter series, she has won many awards and has sold more than 400 million copies. I chose this quote because I love its meaning. The meaning of this quote is that, even when everything is going wrong for you, there's always a bright side. All you have to do is remember the good times and you'll be happy.

R.M Drake is a writer but there is not much known about him. I enjoy how he speaks the truth through this quote. It is true how whenever someone else is in need we will tell them many things that we ourselves are afraid to do. We try to live what we could have or would have done vicariously through the other person.

The author of this quote is unknown. I fined myself reverting back to this quote whenever I am afraid of doing something. The meaning of this quote is that in life you are going to fail. If you live your life doing nothing, can one really consider that a life? In the end you will have nothing to look back on meaning that you have failed to give yourself the life that you deserve. 

Forgetting 

They all wait patiently as he finishes his supper. He does not know who they are anymore. The children hear whispers of conversions and wonder what is wrong. Late at night they hear talk. “He is not getting better. Time is almost up.” 

Day by day they go through the same routine. Doctor appointment after doctor appointment. The weeks pass by.

She had to lead him to his room last night. He did not recognize her but he felt safe enough to take her hand. Slowly they walked to his room, each step a struggle. The gasping of the oxygen tank rattles eerily throughout the house.

He is happy and tells the children stories about his childhood. They have no idea what is to come. 

The next day he is nowhere to be found. The children are worried but the adults are calm. “He is in the hospital,” they tell the children.

It is a Wednesday night. The children are drawing pictures to decorate the room. The adults tell them to hurry up because they will take the pictures to him. One of the children does not finish. She said that she will finish it and give it to him later. (It is one of her regrets.)

The next morning the children wake up to exciting news. They can stay home. The children are overjoyed, saying “best day ever.” 

Little did they know of what was to come.

It was dreary that Thursday morning, a sense of dread which resonated deep within her stomach. It was around lunch time when the adults came home. By then the sun was shining. It was beautiful. They gathered the children in the room.

He was gone.

I would like to thank you for the fit of rage you had, you brought some amusement to my other customers who were waiting in line, it is only paper. Sir you could have easily run some water over it and it would have came right off, I know you know where the bathroom is especially the women's since I have seen you walk in there almost every game by accident.

ANIMALS ESCAPE FROM ZOO

LAST SEEN IN LAS VEGAS

Sheriff Matt Thompson says that as of Wednesday, several animals have escaped from the Southern Nevada Zoo. Zoo personnel only realized the animals were missing when a worker was at a grocery story and overheard a lady exclaiming to a friend saying “ I love how the wild Camels have recently been coming into my backyard, I did not realize they were prone to our area.”

There have been several reports of animals wandering around the Las Vegas strip. There has also been many incidents in which the animals have wandered into hotels. There has been two separate incident involving these animals at the Bellagio hotel and in the Casino Royale hotel. Hotel guests at the Bellagio claimed that they were greeted by several Penguins swimming in the pool when they went for their morning swim. A hotel guest at the Casino Royale told reporters that he found a Python in his slot machine saying “I decided to go and try my chances on the slot machines, I was feeling like today would be my lucky day but boy was I wrong. When I pulled on the leaver, I realized I had won, I was ecstatic but when I went to collect my winnings, out came a Python instead.”  

For the publics safety, a list will soon be available of what animals are missing.The public is advised to report any exotic looking animals and to not approach them especially after an incident on Fremont Street where a man tried to take a Gorilla home with him.
